Bullying is the use of force and repeated aggressive behavior where a person in a position of power deliberately causes harm physically or emotionally. Children’s bullying is a major problem in the United States. It leads to long-term biological and psychological consequences for all involved, including victims and bullies. Bullying can take many forms including verbal, physical, relational, and cyber. There are two ways in which it can happen: in person or online. When it occurs online, it is more difficult to detect and intervene. In addition to anxiety, depression, PTSD, and social isolation, bullying has long-term effects on interpersonal relationships.
